Most of the planet is water, and almost none of it is covered by conventional surveillance. Maritime Watch uses satellite reception, radar imaging and AI behaviour analysis to keep a continuous picture of the sea — detecting vessels that switch off their transponders, protecting subsea cables and offshore platforms, and supporting search and rescue.

Vessel tracking and dark ships
Space-based AIS reception is cross-checked against synthetic-aperture radar imagery. A ship visible on radar but absent from AIS is flagged as dark, and its track is reconstructed from the last known position onwards.
Behaviour analysis
Learned models recognise loitering over cable routes, rendezvous at sea, sudden speed and course changes, and route patterns typical of smuggling or illegal fishing — turning raw positions into interpretable events.
Critical subsea and offshore assets
Cable corridors, pipelines, wind farms and platforms are treated as protected zones. Any unexplained presence within a zone triggers a graded alert with imagery evidence attached.
Search and rescue support
Distress beacons received from orbit are combined with drift models, weather and current data to narrow the search area, and the resulting picture is handed to rescue coordination centres.
